Open Question: do I need to replace my transmission if I ran out of Transmission fluid?

Due to a body shop mistake, the clamps on the hoses between the tranny & the radiator were not secure. I drove @350 miles with no problem, then all of a sudden the car started revving, and I lost power. It died inthe middle of the road. (prior to this no warning lights on, or acceleration or slippage problems. the car was driving fine) The car is only 9 months old. Honda said it ran dry of tranny fluid. They replaced it (and put on the clamps). It ran/shifted ok. They plan to flush the system twice more and do a long test drive. If all is ok they said I (or should I say the body shop) may avoid replacing the transmission. Does this sound right?... Read More »
